Graham Shaw Shows You How You Can Draw
In two separate TED talks, Graham Shaw shows us how easy it is to draw and the value of drawing in terms of helping to remember things.
I’ve often tried to get my learners to draw pictures to help them remember vocabulary and sometimes they react with a little reluctance, saying that they can’t draw. However, after a bit of encouragement, they usually give it a go and the atmosphere is very lighthearted, with everyone having a giggle at their efforts.
On a more serious note, research has shown that turning information into pictures by drawing it can increase our chance of remembering. Below are 2 excellent (and entertaining) TED talks by Graham Shaw, demonstrating how simple drawings can be created and how they can help us to remember things.
