There are an incredible range of online newspapers, many of which are free. A lot of online newspapers have e-editions, that present the newspaper as it would appear in a traditional newspaper. Here are a selection of e-editions:
- The Metro was originally a free London newspaper that was distributed at London Underground stations. It has since expanded nationally. What’s great about the e-edition of the Metro is that you can access a ten-year archive for free!
- The Standard is a London-based newspaper with a long history. It became a free publication in 2009 and the e-edition offers access going back one month, including ES Magazine and ES Homes and Property via the ‘West End Final’ title.
- City AM is a free newspaper that focuses on business news. It is distributed free in London and a 12-day archive can be downloaded in pdf format.
- PressReader offers access to over 7,600 newspapers and magazines from around the world, many of which are in English. Many of the publications are not free, but you may be able to get free access if you are a member of your local library, using your library card number.
