Positive Negatives (formerly Why Comics?)
Positive Negatives (formerly Why Comics?) is a fantastic online resource, led by SOAS at the University of London, offering a number of interactive comics that are based on real life experiences.
The comics cover a range of topics, including modern-day slavery, perilous journeys, racism, persecution, survival and identity.
In addition to the interative comics, there are downloadable versions and lesson plans at different levels.
According to research by Dr Paul Aleixo at Sheffield Hallam University, comics are better than traditional textbooks, increasing students’ ability to remember information.
